No. It's a bandaid at best.

The gears are about 6k, right? Please correct me if I am wrong on the ballpark figure. Then you have to worry about splitting the case, which ultimately will take out the gears once they separate apart

I have a gtx3076r at 450, want to hit 500 but boom goes 2nd gear.
the ppg gear set is 6000.... that's not the way I want to go.
I can pick up a v160 for 3500 and fb kit for 800 and I need a new clutch anyways.

OR you could try 350z trans swap:

Just mocking up right now, I'll be dropping it off to get the bell housings machined later this week and then it's off to the welder! Clutch is a CC twin disc S2000 set with 350Z friction discs and custom mounted hydraulic throwout bearing. Check my build thread for updates as I make progress.

It's a slow progress, but bear with me as I am doing much of the work myself to try and save on costs. OP, sorry for thread-jacking.

Can anyone explain as to why the V160 is so loud in our cars? Its quiet in the Supra and seems to hold up better. Nobody, to this day, has explained why it sounds loud and clunky. I have one brand new sitting on a pallet from Jack's Transmissions that I have been hesitant to install.

Just a guess. The insulation for an s2k from tunnel is nothing compared to supra insulation in tunnel. Also does flywheel weight difference have affect on clunks etc?
