Sounds easy, but not quite the solution for everyone haha. I wish I could be in a car that has a V1160 installed so I can hear it. I saw video once of just sitting and idling and it was horrible.

You should drive an evo with a triple or twin Disc. It's pretty bad. I'm assuming anyone who does this has a loud car anyway. Turn up the radio lol.

At only 500hp you have blown 4 oem transmissions? Man I'm worried about my car now.

You broke some too? Lol. Did you break because of sheer power or are you revving to the moon and no lift shifting? After speaking with several people/shops it seems that the consensus is that the V160 is a solid solution for those wanting to drive their cars on the street, make ~800-900whp, and drag race it only revving to 9k and normal clutch shifting. It's the high rpms along with the no lift shifts that kill these transmissions.

The supra guys do not rev to 10k rpms like some of these big power S2000s. Something we all need to understand is that there have been countless broken V160's in our community but nobody reports that. The Supra folks seem to hold their stuff together because the ones running 800-900whp are only revving to 8500-9000 max. After speaking with my buddy Rich at Majestic Motorsports, he mentioned a few things to take note of. He has been racing Supra's for about 15+ years.

1. The V160 can take some high hp abuse for quiet a while (800-900hp).
2. The supra community tends to stay in the 8000-9000k redline range.
3. ONLY use Toyota trans fluid
4. It helps to run a bigger clutch master cylinder rather than our small S2000 one.
5. Any transmission will break with enough abuse but we shouldn't be breaking them left and right like some have.

If your car is 100% drag racing then go GForce. If you want a mix of drag and street, go V160 and keep the rpms and shifting style under control.

the Gforce 5 speed trans isn't bad for the street either though FYI

The only issue I have with the 5 spd is that you have to modify the tunnel which I didn't want to do. They make a 6 spd but Gforce said it was rather large and would require a decent amount of modding.
