Vacuum Hose Junction Box/Tank
Hi all.. quick question...
I'm connecting all the vacuum hoses to complete my vortech install... and I'm wondering if I still have to use that bulky junction box that attaches to the crossmember. (the piece that routes a vacuum line that eventually connects to the stock vacuum solenoid)
Can this be bypassed or do we need it?
This is the piece I'm talking about:

Thanks!

Oh cool -- I'm running EMS so I should be OK? I suppose I should remove the air pump while I'm at it, huh? Do you have both of those removed in your beast?
Also --One more thing I just noticed -- my solenoid is missing that black cap for the top of the unit as seen here:
Mine looks like this:
I'm pretty sure I've been driving with it like this for quite some time, but wanted to see what your thoughts were on that missing cap. Will this cause any problems?
Sideways FTW!
Thanks!
No problem with the missing cap if it is working.
With an EMS you can pull the valve and place a block off plate over the manifold opening. Pull the hoses and hard lines. You can pull the pump and electric stuff and frame. Total weight savings is less than 10 lbs.
Keep all the stuff you remove in one place with any notes to help return it to stock in the future.
Puddydad has some block off plates.
