Default Vortech Customer Support

This isn't your usual Comptech vs Vortech thread so don't worry. Basically, I was dead set on buying vortech because of numerous reasons (higher stock boost, cheaper, just as reliable, comptech life kinda sketchy), but I just went to a local shop (Autowave in huntington beach) and they specialize in installing comptech kits. He also confirmed with me that they are not going to go out of business b/c he knows the guys who bought the company. Ok well, when it comes down to it. He says if i buy a comptech kit and have him put it on I dont have to worry about warranty stuff if something breaks and he will handle all of that manufacturer stuff for me as well as put it on the dyno b4 and after for free. However, he says in that if i go with the vortech none of those benefits apply. He also says that in the past vortech customer support and warranty stuff has not been too great.

My questions are: has anyone dealt with Vortech customer support lately for anything? Warranties or watever? And, with what my shop said, what kit should i choose? (keep in mind this shop is installing it) Thanks and sorry for the long post!

If you do go with a comptech, get what that guy said to you in writing.

Another S2k owner had a problem with that shop. You may want to look at a thread started about how good inline pro was and pm the treadstarter as he has experience with that shop!!

Here's my little story.

I had a problem with my Comptech blower, well Paxton blower, well Vortech blower as they own Paxton superchargers, anyway I managed to snap the bolt off the impeller shaft after some bad advice off this forum

I had to send my blower back for repairs, packed it up and shipped it off at a cost of $200.00 from the UK, long story short, they fixed it and shipped it back to the UK at no cost to me what so ever, so I'd say Vortech customer service is real good.

A customer of ours broke something on his vortech blower on his TC and they fixed it free of charge, sounds like that shop is just trying to make money off of you.
