vortech leaking oil

vortech leaking oil
Ok so I noticed that I was leaking oil about a week ago, not that much at all but it collects on my frame adds up and then drops on my driveway bricks. So I was having a hard time tracking it down so I took it to my mechanic and He said it was the vtec solenoid, so he just resealed it. Ok, still leeking, so droped it off for him today and he showed me a hairline crack in the pressurized bracket that mounts to the block and feeds the blower oil "I think" He said it is for sure that.
So my question is how could this crack?
Do you think Vortech will replace it for me for free?
And it looks like it can be seperated from the mounting bracket so I wouldn't have to do that much work is this true or is it all one piece?
Please anyone chime in
Thanks, JesseP

The VTEC mounting block doesn't supply oil to the SC on a Vortech. It does on a Comptech.
If the blower brackets aren't tightened in the sequence in the install manual you will get an oil leak from the VTEC block.
You need to make sure the oil inlet fitting isn't cracked, as it's easy to do. Also check the oil feed hose which is below the VTEC mounting block.

Also make sure your mechanic is familiar with an S2000. You can't "reseal" the VTEC solenoid. If he used some sort of sealant, seek the help of another mechanic.
The solenoid bolts have a reputation of vibrating loose or breaking. They are small and require specific ft lbs of torque.

And on a side not as I was inspecting everything i noticed that the oil feed line adapter is kind of cheesy on these units. Is anyone using a sandwich plate?
Do you know the tourque of those bolts by the way?

Yes, they tend to to vibrate loose plus they have more weight to support. Helms says these should be torqued to 8.7ft lbs.
The stock feed setup is cheesy which is why I made my own remote feed:

So here is what happened, The people who installed the superhcarger did not follow the directions and they just cranked down the vtec block bolts, which caused the block to not seal properly, and leak oil. Additionally it made the bolts that connect the vtec block and mounting bracket snap in half
Which made my blower at 2,000 rpm sound like a tin can with rocks inside. (I posted about this as well)
So I ordered a new vtec block and got some bolts and a gasket, and followed the directions to a T and there is no leaking oil anymore, and all the noises are gone
Needles to say I am excited that I got it back to running perfect.
