Default Vortech SC question

I have a question regarding a vortech v2 supercharger. I bought the kit used and it has a really small pulley on it. There no markings but it looks like its about a 3.33 pulley. I already know that the pulley will spin the SC to fast at about 58k. What i want to know is what limits the SC rpm. Is it the bearings or is it the impeller? Reason i ask is because 928 motorsports makes an upgraded impeller which claims to raise the rpm limit from 50k to 60k. Would the bearings still hold up at that speed?

Think it's the bearings. You can get higher speed bearings as well though to spin it up much higher.

Looks like some have not had success with 928 parts for this car however.

I'm guessing you will be running stand alone ecu, injectors, clutch etc?

Its the bearings that will fail. The new impeller just raises the rpm efficiency.

I see. All the supporting mods are good to go. Ill probably just run it with a 3.8ish pulley just to be safe and if i get bored of that after a while ill just go turbo or go with a t-trim maybe. It probably not worth it to do a bearing upgrade and also an impeller upgrade. The 928 impeller alone is almost $550. With a the bearings and a rebuild i could probably just get the t-trim. Thanks
