I dont need a reality check. i build and race both cars, every day, for a living. Ive done damn near every mod you can think of to an evo, and every mod imaginable to an s2000. ive driven both at every level.
the evo at 500+whp is insane, and it something you cant quite explain. why is it, so damn fast. but at 300-350, its just not impressive.
im sorry dude, im not out of my mind. this is something i literally live. i dont even have my s2000 anymore, and i probably race more in one week, than you do in a year.
When i last had my s2k, at a smidge over 230 whp, NA and lightened about 150 lbs, my two best friends drove evos, daily. as their only cars. both right at 330ish wheel. i had them on every level, all the time. launch, toast (street). roll, damn close, with me edging out the win majority of the time.
so how the hell is 9k's car at almost 400 wheel, WITH gears, gonna lose to an evo at that power level unless he cant drive at all?
Its not that im speculating, i just cant even see it. IF 9k loses, no big, ill eat my words, its happened MANY times before.
i root for who im sure will win, and they get torched. LOL. thats racing.

wheres your S btw..... your girls evo...?
1. All other things being equal, a 350awhp car is comparable to a 375rwhp (roughly speaking). His car is making a tad over 375, but 10-20hp is not going to make a significant difference.
2. Even if a race is done from a roll, torque still plays a role, albeit not as significant. So, my 375 ft-lbs at 3400 is a much greater advantage then his 225 ft-lbs at 9000.
3. No doubt the upgraded gearing makes his S2000 quicker than another S2000 with a stock FD. Whether or not his upgraded FD gives him an advantage over an Evo is debateable. You would have to compare his new gear ratios to mine and determine any advantages.
4. Simply overlay our dyno graphs and it is pretty apparent which car is more powerful. I am making a lot more power throughout the entire powerband whereas his is all peak.

Have you done the one wiper mod? That's the one were you put the drivers wiper in the middle of the windscreen.

Yeah but in a race it shouldnt matter if you are making more power at lower rpm levels them him as the two of you should NEVER see those lower rpms right? Even if his is all peak, during a race he should never be out of that peak anyways. Theres way too many other factors that will determine the outcome that can be argued all day on here, you guys need to just settle this already....

Nope, the ferrari would probably lose, they arent just about straight line power (I think they run low 13's high 12's AT BEST) Da SUPRA would be a better match for them......

I have a clean-up tune (currently driveability is pretty poor; overall power is fine) scheduled for next Thursday (August 14th) night at RRE in Norwalk. Tuning will probably finish around midnight and I'll be staying at a Marriott. We can hook-up sometime Friday (August 15th) on my way back to SD.

No one can beat a MASE'D car, NO ONE. Even if you had more hp than a MASE'D car it would be lights out for you. Seeing as you are behind in power anyways and are facing a MASE'D car, id say 9kfever by buslengths for sure....
