Well I didn't do much last night, but I got a big part done, crank pulley.

I had been dreading this and decided I wanted to do it before going out of town.

It was surprisingly much simpler than I thought, two breaker bars, one with the crank pulley tool, one with a deep socket 19mm. Used the pipe from my floor jack (about 4 feet long) and just slowly applied more and more pressure until it cracked loose.

Got the new pulley with the Vortech attachment on and torqued it down. My torque wrench only went to 150 lbs/ft, so I went to that then gave it a bit more. Should be close to the 181 lb/ft the manual calls for.

Today will be a big day I think, I'm going to try to get the S/C mounted onto the car. I got too frustrated with trying to make some brackets for the aftercooler. My dremel decided to crap out halfway through cutting some aluminum. I'll leave that for another time.

Well I'm a little stuck right now. I fought with this drain hose for about 30 minutes yesterday.

The Vortech drain is .5 inch. I have -8an hose which has an I.D. of .45in. People have used this hose before. Any suggestions for making this fit?

So the drain line really frustrated me, so I decided to focus my attention elsewhere.

I got the injectors, map sensor, and after cooler completed today. Little and easy stuff, it just felt good to make forward progress.

A before and after of the brass fittings on the after cooler, just cleaned them up with a wire brush:

Painted after cooler with a new Vortech sticker on there. Very happy with how this turned out:

So I went out of town for 2.5 weeks, just started to turn the wrenches again last night.

I did quite a bit, and unfortunately I didn't take a ton of pictures.

I got the unit partially mounted on the car. I need to still put in the last few bolts and go through the torqueing sequence Vortech provides.

My one big concern is the oil feed, none of the threading wanted to thread all the way down. I know they're some NPT and BSP threading, but it still looks and feels like there's going to be leakage.

I hope to knock out a good chunk this weekend with the possibility to start her up.

The AEM V2 that's going in there has a Vortech tune with a 3.8in pulley (same injectors). Would this still be acceptable for a start up?

Also, can I start it up on the factory fuel pump with ID1000s? The reason I ask this is because the car is up on jack stands and I'd rather not be putting my entire body weight in the trunk and risk throwing the stands off balance. I'd like to be able to start it up, check for leaks and any torquing, then drop it down and do the fuel pump on the ground.

Thanks!

Thanks!

A somewhat disappointing day yesterday. I got the system completely mounted and torqued down. Went to mount the after cooler and realized the s/c is slightly clocked wrong. It needs to be about 3-4 degrees counter-clockwise.

I'm trying to figure out how to do it without pulling everything off. I can gain access to 4 of the bolts on the cover pretty easily, the other two are a big challenge.

Beyond that, I've ordered those plugs and plan on working on the cover today.

Any thoughts on this?
