you went closed loop on the catch can. were did you pull the vacuum source from. if the intake manifold you did creat a boost leak. the vacuum source needs to be pre turbo in an intake.

That's not true. You can run a line to the intake manifold as long as that line has a check valve or pcv in line with it. Mind you, i ran it just like oem. One to the IM with a pcv in line, and the other vented to atmosphere. But it doesnt even matter, im back to my previous setup: both lines to atmosphere via vented catch can.
EDIT: actually you are right to a certain degree. and the pcv only prevents air from getting pushed back into the vc. BUT, it ran fine like this for a little while until one day suddenly i noticed the car was falling flat on its face. I even had the car tuned with a completely oem setup WITHOUT a catchcan (pcv directly to IM) when it made 515whp.

I think my solenoid is going bad. Looking inside there's a ton of black soot. I used some maf sensor cleaner and lubricated but to no avail. It's really inconsistent. Sometimes in 4th it will kick in and hold the psi, and in 3rd it will only hold wastegate spring pressure. I'm gonna get another solenoid soon and swap it out...start the process of elimination.

Okay so I solved the problem with my Boost issues. I swapped out my Mac solenoid for a brand new one, and it was still exhibiting the same symptoms: loosing boost through the RPM range.

So I got to thinking the only change I've made is the addition of an air filter on the turbo. After removing the air filter voila everything's back to normal. I guess the turbo just wasn't getting enough air in the upper RPMs
