What EMS for my weekend warrior?
So I have been doing alot of research but before I pull the trigger on an ems choice for my 500hp AP1 build I wanted to see what people suggest for my particular needs.
2-Step/Launch Control
Boost by gear
Ability to switch maps via laptop by myself without having to go to my tuner.
Budget Conscious
PREFER... no CEL and Functioning obd2 to pass emissions
As of right now im thinking I cant go wrong with an AEM Version 2 EMS. But is their a AP1 hondata or halltech that would better suit my needs? Just dont want to make a $1250 mistake... thanks guys

Ok cool. Along the same lines do you suggest spending the extra $500-600 whatever to get the serial gauge and sensors. I believe Real Street has the plug n play v2 for $1200-1300 and they also have a kit for $1700 with serial gauge and all the wiring/sensors

I would highly recommend the Haltech ProPlug. As Riceball said the AEM is okay but the features and support if the Haltech are better. A few things which are very good is integrated MAP, Narrow band O2 support, FlexFuel sensor interpolation, Auto fuel mapping for fuel table ruff-in, good MAF calibrations............
Now AEM is about the release a new Infinity (SP) series that should be at or beyond a Motec technologically but the support and GUI ( user interface/software) is in question. AEM has developed a reputation on letting their users be the beta testers.

I believe thats only if you get the dual ecu harness from Evans. Unless Haltech came out with a newer model that I dont know about.
OP - go with AEM or Haltech.. people say Haltech is easier to tune, but if you're not tuning the car yourself it doesn't really matter. Switching calibrations with AEM is very simple.

If you need functioning obd2, the only current standalone choice is kpro (for 00-05 s2ks). I don't know how this still isn't widely known.
