What to get for 300whp?
i think me and tj are on the same page. i have 4.77s too. i just want the sos non-ac sc kit, not the whole enchilada. i think gears plus a little boost is the perfect street setup for my type of driving.
non-ac sc + 4.77s > ac sc
non-ac sc + 4.77s > ac sc
I am running the 4.77 and turbo. I think it works fine for around 300hp, much more and I think you need to go to 4.44 on the ap1. The only thing I noticed is that cause you move through the first to gears pretty quick, you don't get to hold boost for very long. But it works OK for me and my car is still pretty damn fast. 3rd gear and after I love that mechanical advantage 16% baby!!

Oh come on, the Greddy kit sounds like what would meet his goals. It's a great kit, although I would not buy it new. $5000 is TOO much money for the Greddy. I got a used kit for $2100 with no fuel pump. I wasn't going to do Greddy until I found that deal, but now that I have one, I love it. Perfect for getting about 300 whp for DD.
The reason Joey doesn't go beyond 6K unless he is racing is the bulk of the power in the Greddy is before 6K rpms. You don't have to rev into VTEC for the power. That's the difference in fast spooling small turbos and superchargers.

It sucks that this kit is restricted to 300RWHP +/1 20HP but great numbers for a track car and on the straights It gets off the line awfully fast and I would rather be quick down low then fast up high MPH wise (on the street anyway), I dont like driving hard past 80mph, a lot can happen very quickly and with a huge TURBO/SC I would imagine the fun begins at 80MPH............
This is all opinion and I know some larger Turbos spool quickly as well..........
For the basic 7 psi aftercooled Comptech setup which plugs do you guys reccomend? Is it ok to go ahead and get the plugs and put them in prior to having the s/c installed (i.e. will the 1 step colder hurt anything while the car is N/A).
Is the NGK BKR8Eix still a good choice?

No problem, just put them in now if you like, those plugs are good, I use them on my set up. Driving with the stock plugs isn't going to be a problem with the SC either if its not convienant to change out right away, especially in this cold weather.

Thanks, it's time for me to change the plugs anyway and I didn't want to drop 60 bucks for OEM plugs only to take them out in a few weeks for FI setup plugs. If the BKR NGK's are ok for N/A in the meantime I'll go ahead and just change them.
