Moddiction, excellent post. Supercharged guys need to pay attention. That seems like a stellar deal because most of these cores come from the same place.

^Yes they are many times made in the same place. That's how the intercooler I had for my DSM was. Found out it was the exact same core as one over 3 times the cost of it just due to the name brand.

As long as the welds hold up and it does not start leaking it should work perfectly at 1/4 the price.

I will see how it looks installed. Not sure if the dimensions will be the best but I will see.
About twice as long as the stock vortech on and .25" thicker and 1.5" taller.

Definitely interested to see how this works. I've been considering the SOS upgrade but this is certainly alot more cost effective.

It's been a couple years since I've had the bumper off so I'm a little fuzzy - do you plan on more or less centering it and fab'ing you own mounting brackets?

Yeah definitely going to center it in the middle. From what I hear it is very easy to mount. Has brackets on the sides so just need to bolt it to something behind there. Someone mentioned earlier that it was very easy to find mounting points.

Yeah, mounting any type of radiator/intercooler isn't tough. It just takes some spare aluminum to bend some brackets and some patience to do it right.

Just got it in the mail today.
Looks good. Welds look good and all.

Polished the end tanks a little bit as it does not come polished.
It's not massive like some of the other ones. But should almost fill the bumper area just showing the endtanks on the sides and should cool much better.

Here are some pictures and comparison to stock vortech unit.

It's not. That is the cardboard that is sagging.

I wonder what the inside of those endtanks looks like, lol.

The reason I say that is because looking at the design of that thing I would imagine water would flow in one of the fittings and right out the other one. That would be a much easier path of travel than going across to the other side and back. Note the design of the standard vortech heat exchanger...
