thats why i want to bore it .5mm over, so it has a fresh round bore and hone on it.

bluemetal..i do not want to do a stroker motor. i just want the high revving f20 with lower compression, without using a HG, and without spending $4 grand.

cauman---those are what i have read about as well. But I still have yet to see anyone post up with experience of their RUNNING motor.

Id like to know this as well. No HG for me. 700 capable f20 and f22 stock low comp pistons should make it that much better without dumping 5k for a built block.

Well all I can recommend is getting a built motor. Laskey does builds for the cheapest price I can find. You said your crank is fine. Use it in your build then. If you can put the engine back in yourself you can have a fresh engine with whatever compression you want for around 4k. He did a nice build on my engine, but I have yet to start it up. I'll ind out at the end of the week and share how it goes.

If you want to go low compression on the cheap, you can machine your stock pistons. Im running machined ap2 pistons at 9.6:1 compression ratio. Ive been running these since last fall. They have been very reliable so far, im running 15 psi at low boost and 20 at high, on 91 octane. Cost for machining is around $200. However the amount of labor required is much greater than just installing a head gasket. But at least you dont have to worry about your headgasket failing all the time.

Guys I put in the thread title I want to hear of people with running motors, not where I can buy the parts.

And thanks artisan, I have read your entire thread on the build with machned oem's, that's what I was referring to in the first post. I would like to bore and home to run an oversized piston, just to make sure the walls are round, but the cost of new oversize oem's is crazy. And I doubt someone has oversized ap2 pistons in good shape lying around. That's why I was looking to go aftermarket. And I would like a slightly lower compression ratio as well......around 9:1.

I havent done an f20, but I have built several h22's with mahle low compression pistons with out an issue. I dont see the f20 application being any different.
