Default Zex Nitrous?

i am going to be installing a Zex kit on my S2, but heres my issue a buddy of mine installed a kit on his and some how messed with the VTEC. He didn't get into detail about it but, he said it needed to be bypassed. Can anyone tell me what this might have been? thank you in advance

Bypass vtec? Unplug the solenoid

I'm stepping outside of my realm of knowledge since we're talking about Zex, but I'd be seriously surprised if you were supposed to stop VTEC engagement altogether.

Good luck with the install

no not stop it, but he said something about the "smart box" included with the system interfering with the VTEC.
