I did a quick estment, every thing us on the high side.
Body labor@ 60 hours= 2,604
paint labor@ 20 hours= 840
paint supplies@20 hours 480
parts 1,775
grand total= 5699

note, this do not include any mechanical time or parts.

7 grand is a high side est. It's a flip of a coin from
here, could fall either way. Depending on how much the body shop is hurting and how much the isurance company wants to pay. Cause by law they are required to give you the preplacement vaule of the car and not blue book.
thanks frieze

I'm sure the shop will find more when they cut into it, but once they start they will do anything they can to keep the job. What is the body rate going for in west palm?

If youre insurance compay gave you that quote, then it's point less. It will stand at any body shop you take it too. Unless they arnt on the drp program for that insurance company, but your car can be saved. So why would another shop try to total it for you? They don't make money by not fixing cars. The best thing to do is fight with your insurance company. Note they may drop you if you do win.

Just a little tip, demand they only use brand new factory parts on your car. This is legal and they have to if you demand them. This will raise the cost, but I'm not sure it will push it far enough. Are the head lights hurt? That would be a big help, even if a tab is broke you can make them replace it with a new one.
