I was unaware of that. I'll have to check that out. Thanks for letting me know.
j's doesn't make any LED light panels, this type of thing is readily available at nearly any autoparts store in Japan, and you will see this on quite a few cars driving around cities of japan.

also, most Super GT cars use these now as well, as a visibility, get the **** out of my way sort of thing.

You are correct. Please forgive any misinformation that may have made its way around this thread. The correct manufacturer of the light kit was A&J's or AJ's Racing NOT J's Racing. The names are very close, but they are different companies altogeather

I was never trying to say I'm THE ONLY guy out there with something like this. I'm not looking to instigate here, but when I started this project, it was purely my idea. I didn't know of this sort of thing existing elsewhere for S2000s specifically. Also, I'll point it out again, that the pre-fab lights that were posted on this thread are mounted perpendicular to the rail. Bumpers are not flat, straight, surfaces unless you drive a 1980 Volvo . . .which I doubt. In order to make the lights shine out like a second set of headlights, you need to compensate for the angular change, which I did with my custom designed mounting rail.
If there are LED light kits with this angularity compensation on the market, then you could post links so people interested in doing something like this to their S2000 would be able to without the enormous costs of complete custom fabing everything. I got away with sheding a lot of that cost because I designed everything, and machined everything myself. Anything else that was needed, I bought from a local hardware store minus the LEDs.

And you are right about the visibility thing. Most people on the road tell me it looks really cool, but it's also really annoying. I suspect that's due to the stiff suspension and the narrow beam-path that LEDs have. (In the light or Out of the light. No fade in or "gray areas")

No need to get an attitude here. OK?

Mountain-man - Don't worry what others say...these kinds of things are usually a love it or hate it sort of mod

Being a custom kinda guy myself with our shop I applaud all new efforts to do something different. I personally get pretty tired of seeing the same J's and JDM stuff on our cars. Most of those bumpers are way too "gaudy" to begin with and just not right for daily drivers anyways.

I just got my new Ap2 bumper enroute and finally got ahold of my LED DRL's so stay tuned for what I have planned...hehehe

I do like your idea and also your crafting skills. My only opinion on your lights (take it with a grain of salt ok?) is that your lights are placed way too low and looks out of place. Also if you are going to do this type of mod you need to at least drop your car and make it look a bit more aggressive. As you stated these LED's are intended to give the GT Exotic cars some "get out of my way" nature and having a stock car just does not reflect the LED mods.

I think if you drop the car, add some more body mods then it will be one looker!

Are you sure about that?

That's exactly what I was thinking....I thought those LED lights were made by J's....unless it's something that A&J made, which J's ended up rebranding/selling (which I doubt).

well it look's like J's is offering a specific kit now, but what I am saying is that there are so many different versions of this identical setup, and J's is probably using the LED boards from one of these that is widely available, just making it a little easier.

the J's kit looks nice and isn't a bad deal, makes installing it extremely easy. I am just saying that there are many different types, sizes, etc. of these led light kits available at any Super Autobacs, or other car parts store in Japan. as this is a fairly popular modification for a lot of cars in japan, little cars, vans, you name it.

For those of you who want to do something on the faux brake ducts, if I have time this weekend, I'll try to produce a mockup or something to get a physical idea going. Personally, I feel for something like this, the lights should be flush with the rest of the bumper and not inset like the ducts. Also, to make it look smoother when the lights are off, I would recomend haveing some black plastic grillwork (just horizantal slats) above or below, or both. Again, I'll try- TRY to whip something up over the weekend. Right now, I'm kinda swamped with junk to do including an issue with a header I just bought.
If I DO get it togeather, I'll promise you the model will NOT look pretty like the real thing. It's just to give a basic example.

LOL...I was just thinking the EXACT same thing...that the running lights should be flush somehow and not recessed into the faux brake duct...and that there should be some kind of grill in place underneath it.

I wish I had the same kind of creativity and enginuity as you man...otherwise, I'd already be in my garage molding the fiberglass and taking measurements.
