I wish I had the same kind of creativity and enginuity as you man...otherwise, I'd already be in my garage molding the fiberglass and taking measurements.
So what are you waiting for?! Get out there and measure away! (BTW, a decent caliper would be a big help, or an acurate scale)
Plexiglass or clear acrylic can be free-state heat formed to match the front of the bumper. The light kit posted on this thread would be cheep, but the lights would not shine out straight, but would shine perpendicular to the bumper. It would, however be by far the cheepest way to go. The Plexiglass may be a little more as this is a bit more complex than what I did with mine. You might need to have your clear diffuser custom bonded to another two peices (I would recomend black acrylic for top and bottom) to hide any wireing you might have. The other option, is to use Acrylic material's light chaneling properties to keep the lights straight. However it might shine out at an angle as well because now the surfaces are acting as a prism.
What I am talking about here is shining the lights through the edge of the material rather than the plate face. This will no doubt cost more due to the thicker acrylic needed, but you could do a lot of amazing lighting effects with thinner stuff as well such as multi-teered slats that give out light, vs one thick bar. The edges of acrylic materials like plexiglass have light chaneling properties like fiber-optics. In fact a lot of fiber-optic cables such as those found in higher end audio equipment, are plastic.
Hmmm . . . . fiber optic lighting . . . . nah. Too expensive.
Well, it's a little hard to convey in a few words what I'm explaining. I'm sure some of you understand it.
I'd have to pick up some scrap plexiglass and play with it and a flashlight to know exactly what the light-chaneling method would look like from the other end. I have some left over from my project.
WOW! I was thinking of doing this when I saw the J's racing car in one of those hot version videos but never looked into it. I am happy the threadstarter did this.
Is the J's Racing lightstrip from A&J a good price? Is there anything better I can buy?I want a thin strip.

As far as anything better out there, I have no idea. Others might know, but I don't. I completely custom fabricated mine.

looks good. hope u dun mind me stealing ur and the audi's idea. i'll probably custom mold it into the front lip that i'm making.
You're not stealing anything. If you want to do it or something like it, I'll be more than happy to help you out. I'll tell you exactly how I did it if you want me to, or I'll try my hardest to figure out a problem you might have with a setup your doing on your own.
My guess is that all auto maufacturers are seeing this as something of a bit of a fad. Audi and Porche are doing it. Soon, BMW, VW, GM, Ford, Chrysler, Mercadies, Honda, Toyota, . . . they'll all be jumping on the bandwaggon for these LED strips.

It really bites when you have to work all day and week and weekend, and get hardly any sleep, and when you do, your day is GONE! I still havn't forgotten to try a model, but time will be tight again. I'm installing my Tracy header this weekend. I have the plexiglass for light chaneling tests to see if the lights can be mounted inside the bumper.
and for those saying I need other body mods, I have a set of Comptech Sides on the car. The OE wing will likely come next. Lowering it may come in the future, but right now, I've had a few scrapes exiting some driveways with the stock suspension.
It's 6:30 AM here, and I havn't slept since yesterday morning. I need to get some sleep.

hey Mountain-man:
I still have my brand new AP2 bumper sitting at the body shop waiting for some oem mfr. to come out with LED DRL's that I can readily fit/mold into the stock ap2 bumper but directly under the headlight instead.
The Audi S6 DRL's are a high quality setup and cost is about $300 for the pair which isn't too bad. They operate directly off 12 volts so makes it an easy application.
However after researching this with another fellow and he showed me the exploded pics of the unit, it's clear the unit has to be shortened about 2" in lengh to make it work.
The circuit board actually has a heatsink to help dissipate heat but I still want to tackle this project to give my s2000 a high tech look.
Let's compare notes....
