Default Customized my OEM Airbox Lid

Hello everyone. I was getting very bored of the look of the OEM airbox. I kept seeing people with the carbon fiber covers on theirs. So I began to think it would look nice if I just smoothed out the lid and painted it gloss black. So thats what I did. I barely got it done about an hour ago so I dont have any good pics of it installed in the light. It does have some small flaws and stuff, but what can you do painting outside right? Im happy with it and thats all that matters. I will get some good pics tomorrow of it during the day. It will probably be later in the day since I work, but ill get them up.

Here is what I started with:

Got the first layer on:

Sanded, sanded, and sanded some more.

Then put a light coat of paint to see where it needed more sanding, and sanded it down again:

Finished:

A couple new pics! Re-sprayed my valve cover and took these this morning.

Older pics..

Thanks. I used an automotive bondo to do it. The airbox is completely bolted down so it doesnt really move, except with the vibration of the car. I dont think ill have a problem with it cracking.
