Dat Boi's Rio AP2 Thread
Picked up another S2000 after moving to Mississippi from Arizona about a year ago. I left my SSM AP2 in AZ because the roads here suck and I didn't have a garage to park it in.
I came across a Rio Yellow AP2 for sale local to me, which is a rarity because most people here buy Mustangs or Camaro's. The car needed some work as it looked neglected by the previous owner. The top is ripped, the car had a slight mis-fire/idle issue, the seats are AP1/AP2V1 and driver's side is ripped, the wheels were AP2V1s with mismatched tires, there are holes in the trunk from a previously installed wing... You get the idea. However, since S2000s are fairly simple and reliable, I bit the bullet and picked her up a little over a month ago.
After changing all fluids, cleaning the TPS and MAP sensor, and doing a valve adjustment, the car is running well and feels strong. It still needs cosmetic updates like a new top and AP2V2 seats, but that will all come later. First things first, AP2V4's.. aka RPF1s with 255/40/17 RS3s all around to improve the handling. The car came with Tein S-Tech springs so it doesn't look too bad at the moment, but I'm excited to get the coilovers on!
I will try and update this thread as much as possible but it'll probably be pretty basic changes and fixes.
I spent about 9 hours today detailing the car as the paint felt like sand-paper. I'm really happy with how it came out and love Rio Yellow Pearl. Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Do you have previous track experience? I plan to be at the NASA NOLA October event as well.
