im an estimator at bodyshop

more than likely it is going to be total loss

considering your car being 2000

i deal with insurance everyday

this is what you should do

make a claim to his insurance

then adjuster will assign a appraiser to go take a look at the car...

like statefarm insurance they have their own appraiser and from this point

it is all on Appraiser whether this car will be totalled or not..

because it is totally up to him to write the estimate for cheap or expensive

you can be at the scene of appraiser inspecting a car and it is good idea to joke

around with him to make him feel relaxed so he would write you more

but regardless this is going to be total loss i think

if its a 2000 then i'm sure its totaled. just buy it back and part it for some more money. you should def talk to your attorney. you got nothing to lose. attorneys wont collect from u until you get paid!!!

That is awful - sorry to hear. I bet it is totalled... that damage looks rather severe.

wow 20% only? I think I am going to the wrong lawyer

My last car accident the lawyer I had took about 40-50% (forgot about a year ago) before doctor fee's. It was a serious case where I was injured and had to get stitches. In spite that the case was very fast (only about four months turnaround time for the money).

I am just wondering is 20% the average collection for a lawyer? I'm feeling I really got jipped from my lawyer.

sorry for thread jacking, hope you (OP) get better and everything works out for you

I have a feeling it is totaled too. The rear quarter is a pain to fix; a lot of welding. Plus, the trunk floor is crunched too. Chances are good you can buy it back fairly cheap and make some money parting it out, or have it fixed by a friend...
