Thanks. Any info on what you used to seal it? I am about to embark on this and want to try and protect the cut area. Also any info on the undercoat> Did you just use that rustoleum stuff like undercoat spray? Are you planning on getting the bumper extensions?

^^ Wow. And this is why I've always hated posting. And to the guy who asked about my fronts rubbing or not...They do, with a full tank and a passenger. Not a big deal. Taking care of that this weekend. I'll make sure my next S2000 setup will have RPF1's, ASM flares, REAL OEM paint from Suzuka, Japan, oh and REAL air in my tires. Because that's also not REAL air. I filled them up at a Quickchek. Thanks for positive comments by the guys who actually like cars and take in people's information. You guys rock.

Usually not a fan of flares but those look pretty good, just need to get a matching rear bumper or something to make it flow better.

^^Sure. I used a product "like" seam sealer that I purchased at Home Depot. Black silicone adhesive. As soon as the skin of the quarter panel and the inside support split, I gooped the black silicone in between. Then where I had cut and flapped over, I painted both sides of the flap with Duplicilor Undercoat. I covered all exposed metal and made sure to clean up any jagged edges before the undercoat. Flapped them up, onto the Silverstone skin, and riveted. Then I marked and riveted the flare to the body. And as of right now, I don't think I will be rockin' the extensions. I kind of like how it just cuts off.

It's best to weld, or at least spot weld it in 10-15 places. I would use some fibreglass to fill the gap between the two panels and sand it all smooth, then prime/paint and maybe even put some undercoating on it. If you don't weld it'll definitely crack any bondo/paint/undercoating because those panels have have some flex.

Once water gets in the smallest of cracks/gap, it'll start rusting from the inside out and that's a bad time so you want to make sure it's done right.

jesus people give the guy a break. not all of us can throw down for real parts. If I could I would. Are we not allowed to put parts on our car if they arent $500+ for flares and $3000 for wheels? I buy real when I can but thats not usually the case.

the car looks good, looks like he did a decent job on it. I would have liked to see them welded but oh well.
