I would love a full carbon front. Though I drive a berlina I would still paint it. I like wieght reduction and clean lines. You can still have clean lines with unpainted CF in the right places. Mirrors, hood, trunk lid, hardtops, etc. I just don't think i'd like seeing a cf pattern on a fender lined up with a glossy door...
then buy carbon doors!

Yup!, no offense of course. In the first picture, was your car in a wreck and you got a deal on a Berlina hood or is it CF? It doesn't matter which one it is, it matters that you can't tell the difference and it's ugly. Plain and simple. We have an Aluminum hood to save weight, did everyone notice that Honda decided to paint it even though it was a weight saving manuveur? All the people that say paint adds weight that negates the weight loss of buying CF, can you tell me how much the paint on your hood weighs? Didn't think so, so stop polluting the site with your irrational hearsay. The drag what raw CF at speed vs. waxed paint is more of an issue than the ounces of weight you've added with paint. Major body panels i.e. hoods, bumpers, fenders, doors, trunks, should always be painted. Add on diffusors, splitters, canards, can go unpainted without much loss of flow and performance.

This is my opinion. A simple reflection on how my opinion counters the opinions of others that were completely stupid. Again, my opinion.
quite possibly the most opinionated post yet. so if you sit here and say paint is weightless, then go grab a quart of GPW and see how non-existant the weight is, report back and share. anywho, the idea of this whole thread is to get people's opinion. not to hear why honda did this, and why we shouldn't do that. just sucks we all don't share the same taste as you, because if we did, we'd all be a bunch of solid colored, textbook, conservative pricks. now, no one here has to do what anyone else says, so with that in mind, i'd just quit posting mindless like that and stick with basic opinions on the matter.
and im guessing they probably painted the aluminum for the average car buyer who, like most of us, don't desire unpainted aluminum. but nissan made a great car called the skyline which came in a rare form of a V-Spec II N1. and would you believe those tasteless bastards left the hood unpainted carbon fiber??? geeze. and spoon, what were they thinking with all their unpainted ish? taste is taste and we all have our own, just choose your words a little more wisely next time, and you won't sound so damn ignorant.
