I posted mine in the official radar detector thread. I'm a fan of the X50 over the V1, that thing has saved me so many times. Unfortunately my screen just broke on it.

To make it nice an concealed you have two choices, and I have done both. You can mount it up high and run the wire under the top trim by the map lights and down the a piller, or you can mount it low on the windshield and run the wire behind the front of the dash out of sight. Both are pretty straight forward and easy to do.

 

That install is pretty cool.

 

where do you guys get power once hardwired. Same remote as an amp?

 

hardwired and sitting on the dash - and before anyone says it, theres NO decrease in sensitivity (proven)

Lee...with that set-up, does it still pick-up the radar if it's coming from behind you? With the OEM HT on, I would think that it wouldnt pick up the signals behind you?!

i thought that the higher the radar is positioned, the better accuracy it has...is this just a rumor?

 

I love mine. It's already paid for itself.
