i let my mom borrow my v1 for a vegas trip. She didnt know you had to mount it with a clear line of sight. It was sitting in her center console in her benz and it still worked.

Ryan, ive had no issues. It functions equally as well as a mirror mounted detector. When you drive in groups its easy to compare, and my X50 beats the standard 8500 in detection capabilities - even being mounted on the dash. FYI I have the remote display mounted on the steering column.

the higher it is, the better.. kind of hard to make it hidden and work properly.

i would invest in a jammer, u can put it behind the bumper..

The main unit is up and to the right of the rear view mirror for good visibility fore and aft.

Pictured below is the concealed display. I always put it by the instrument cluster since I like to check the radar and speed at the same time.

Do note that this location slightly blocks the low fuel level indicator.
