BTW, I think I like the Mugen setup better but I'm going all out weight savings on this car so the Amuse gets appeal there. I just don't know if the small (?) weight savings of the amuse is worth the extra cost and/or attention from the cops (loudness??).

I like the way the mugen looks, I like the way it sounds and I like the weight savings over stock. I have heard though that the 04/05 version is louder than the pre 04. Does anyone know how much louder... cop attracting louder or grin inducing louder?

Also, can one expect about the same power gain with the two or is one better than the other?

Shift_S2K, amuse is much louder than Mugen. Although I never had the Mugen exhaust on my car, I have heard/driven the S with Mugen exhaust equipped.

What about it???

Isn't the R1000 the single exhaust? I must consider noise level cause I live in Socal and the cops get on you like flies on sh*t out here if you seem too modified. Therefore singles are out.

What do you know about the spoon header...?? I'm not a big Spoon fan but if it makes significant power I'll consider it.

I had the Amuse dual on my car and I would say it is only a tad bit louder than the Mugen dual. I've driven a car with the Mugen dual exhaust and Mugen header and would say that it was pretty close to the sound of my Amuse dual. I noticed the Mugen setup had a little more drone on the freeway though, while the Amuse is nice and quiet while cruising on the freeway.

Not sure how the Amuse dual would sound with the Amuse header though...

Does Amuse header have a heat shield? If not, is it ok? I mean the stock heat shield was there for a reason right? How come some aftermarket doesn't have one.

I've been wondering about the heat shield issue myself...

On king motorsports website it says in the mugen development section that the heat shield is necessary because of the proximity of the the master cylinder. I looked under the hood and the master cylinder is on the other side of the engine so I'm not sure what they are talking about..?
Was the master cylinder on the other side in pre 04 models, or are they not talking about the brake master cylinder?

Performance gain on the car with the mugen header/exhaust combo? Was it noticable?

amuse exhaust is much louder than Mugen, I cannot comment on the performance since I never had the Mugen exhaust on my car.
