hm..dotn beat the OP guys...he said he never had a intake cover for his box so its not as though he took out a 'good OEM' one and put in his own filter...

 

at least the filters not directly behind the radiator soakin up too much hot air

im glad you have a great attitude, some people will pay top dollar to get the same effect. So props to you for originality. I wouldn't have done it to the intake though, as the s2000 comes with a great intake from the factory.

i don't think it's as bad as you all are making it out to be. a k&n or comptech short-ram is only a tube with a filter stuck on the end. he did the same thing for $30 rather than having a factory manufactured one at $300...

 

Honestly I dont really see why some of you have to be so rude about it. It wasnt doing me good with an open airbox, so this cant be much worse in performance. Like I said, I know its bad and ghetto, but it was just for fun. Ill be getting a real name brand intake soon so no worries. It was just a fun little project due to boredom, its not like im keeping it on there. I'm just trying to do things a little differently and have a little more fun with it, and thanks to those of you that had some good things to say. I'm not trying to be mean or rude to anyone that commented, its your opinion so I cant really say anything about it, but you dont have to be THAT harsh about it.

 

I agree that several of the responses have been pretty rude and non-constructive. Try not to take it too personally man. A lot of the folks here on S2KI can be pretty harsh and critical when it comes to mods like this.
