Newbie from the UK
Just thought I'd make my presence known - I've been an S2k owner for 5 months and have loved every mile
My car is 1999 Silver/Red and has done nearly 5kmiles.
In some ways I'm lucky as I live on an island called the Isle of Man where there are no speed restrictions on the open roads - yes, that means I can (legally) use my car at pretty high speed, although the most I've had from it so far is 130, but 100+ on some fairly challenging roads is a regular thing.
In other ways I'm not so lucky as I can see what a great time you all get (going to Tokyo et al) and you can easily get some performance and styling parts that are tricky to obtain here without paying a fortune in shipping.
The car is unmodded at the moment, but I'm definitely thinking about it now I've seen some of the things you guys are doing to yours. I've managed to find sources for most of the things I want for now, but would be interested in knowing where I can find the clear side repeaters some of you have.
Personalised licence plates are quite popular here too and mine is the shortest I can manage and use my initials (BH) in conjunction with the local licensing requirements - BMN1H.
If some kind person tell sme how to insert one of the photos I have, I'll be pleased to post one.
Look forward to learning and reading lots of S2k stuff

Welcome to the forum! Sounds like the Isle of Man is a great place to have an S2000.
Hey, would love to see photos...check out the Forum FAQ's on how to post pics.
They can be found at

Welcome! I'm familiar with the Isle of Man courtesy of the yearly (except this year) motorcycle race. Damn mad cow disease! But after looking at some bike racing video, I can only imagine what's it like to drive a car like the S2K there! Watch out for those stone walls!!!
I hear ya!! The isle of man motorcycle race is absolutely the most entertaining race on the planet to watch... I couldn't imagine doing what those guys do.. 180mph+ through village streets which are 10 feet wide with curbs on both sides... crazy... too bad it got cancelled this year. Picking up the video is an absolute must have for any race fan.
Thanks for the welcome.

), my house is about 50 yards from one of the fastest corners on the course - about the only thing I can think of that's more dangerous in the sporting world is stepping into a ring with Mike Tyson
It's amazing how the Island's fame spreads around the world through the TT races. Big shame they were cancelled this year for our struggling tourist industry, but as they are a huge inconvenience to people going about their usual daily business (and I've lived on the Island for the last 18 years so the novelty of the racing has worn off to an extent) I didn't really miss that.
Having said that, some of the sparkle would have been missing this year anyhow following the death of Joey Dunlop last year. A true, true anti hero if ever there was one - what an unassuming guy, but he had such ability there will never be another like him.
S2K_Coming, some of the best stretches of road are over the 'Mountain' section of the TT course - not too many walls and as long as the weather's fine the visibility around most corners and up the straight bits is perfect, meaning you can just enjoy the drive without taking massive risks of getting caught speeding or coming across oncoming traffic - exhilirating
Brakes do get a bit hot though, so I might be looking for ways to keep 'em cool soon as well as uprating the discs and pads when they're due for a change.
If you can locate a source for Duke Marketing Videos (they do most of the TT review vids) it might be worth checking out copies of the Manx International car rally videos. Held on closed public roads in some of the more inaccessible parts of the Island, it can be pretty entertaining with lots of in-car action. This place just loves motorsport
Now must figure out how to post those pics!
