Well i would love to get one of your drawings as well but 50 sounds a little steep. Yes i know the amazing time and effort that went into each one, but the sigs were alot cheaper

Hey guys,

I am almost positive I am one of the guys DB8 is/was talking about. I saw the cars he made and tracked down his post about making them for people a little late in the game and saw that they were all spoken for.

I did take one of his silver images and worked it a bit to see if I could reproduce my new body kit, I also changed the color, dropped it put different wheels on it, gave it ap2 headlights and tried some body graphics at the same time.

I had it in my sig until I saw he reaction to people taking his work and then I immediately removed it. It was never my intention to disrespect or steal from him. I was just seeing what I could do with it.

I write this to officially apologize since it was never my intention to do any harm.

I would only offer this: sometimes immitation is the most sincere form of flattery.

I am not a strong vector artist so, at the time, it seemed like something fun to try.

Sorry fellas, it wont happen again.

BTW, they are amazing illustrations, to the both of you

Sincerely,
RoB

Personally I am not a strong vector artist but have always loved the style. Currently I am in the process of creating a website that will allow people to pick and choose parts etc to create a sig of their car. While working on it I have been using chopped versions of DB8's original sigs (which I collected in admiration of their awesome style) as placeholders to flesh out how the page will work, which ultimately will determine how the final images will need to be created.

Personally I would love to have help from the other designers here on the board to create the work for the final piece. If it would be a matter of getting paid for your work, then I would suggest a new pricing scheme that benefits all. Have people pay for unique parts to be added. So if someone wants their specific wheels to be added to the application they'd pay just for the wheels (less time then a whole car) and then it would be added to the collection for everyone to use. That way people can choose to wait and hope their wheels, wing, etc are added; or they can pay a few dollars to have them put at the top of the list of what gets created next.

I will be putting up a beta version of the page soon, and will make sure that all artwork on that page is original.
