Ok, so what makes you think that the larger products are in anyway different? I can assure you that the name brand JDM manufacturers apply the same marketing acumen to their big products as they do to their small ones. Who can spell 'ASM CF bodykit'.

I don't really have a problem with this. There is always a cost asociated with name brands. As long as there is some functionality there as well I can live with it. But really, all you get for your $3000 on this intake is an unindentifiable power increase (maybe), and bragging rights. Forget the NA vs. FI argument, that's lousy ROI in my estimation.

The question is: "Why do these manufacturers do this?". The answer is: "Because they can!". Because people will by them. Because people buy into the lies about "SUPER HAPPY SATISFACTION POWER INCREASE!".

You've admitted the name brands like to ream us and all I'm saying is ASM are no exception.
Your correct again. This intake can be bought for $1400. Thats not to bad. But the fact that Medical Student paid $3000 is what is killing you guys. So what? He did it. Fact still remains is this intake can be had on the Japan auctions for $1400. Cheaper than Mugen and Gruppe M. Cant you see that?

People would buy this intake if it was $5000. You just have to know were to go to get it cheaper and used is always an option.

I agree. I am tired of going back and forth.

I like this intake for the $1400-$1500 pricetag. Not the $3000 one.

In my opinion even a mugen intake is not worth it's price.

[QUOTE=HvRRZ,Oct 17 2005, 08:06 PM] hmmm I have much love for the NSX, and probably would buy one the first chance I could. One encounter is not enough, and I don't see how he could just walk him after 100, something must have been wrong. Also a SC S is totally different from a turbo S.

How come we're now talking FI S2000 vs NSX? And not actually an NSX, but a JGTC race car? Surely if you have to go to that extent to beat a turbo S2000 that says some amazing things about the S2000?

I have an S2000. I had about $6K. I could have spent it on an ASM Intake and Mugen body kit or I could spend it on a LoveFab turbo kit. I chose the latter. Why? Because I'm not completely brain dead.

I know, I stated I know the differences. I was just using Wesmaster as an example. I doubt his videos are still on here. It was so long ago. It wasnt just one race. It was many over a week period till his boosted S2k motor blew up.. Come on guys, how many times did he blow his boosted motor? 4 times He ended up selling his S2k and went with an OEM boosted WRX or Evo from last I heard...Interesting. OEM TURBO aka made for the car..

That has nothing to do with it. Some of us want reliability which you already said you wont have with a 450hp+ S2000 at 100,000+ miles. You already answered your own questions and statements..
I am also talking about a race prepped GT300 S2000 vs a race prepped GT500 NSX. The displacement and other factors are too small for the S2000 to compete in the "big boys" race.. That is obvious. S2000 would get killed regardless of what kinda power it could come up with...How about this would the Amuse GT300 class S2000 stand a chance in a GT500 race with Vipers, Supras, NSX, Skyline GTRs, etc? No it wouldnt..

I do agree with you the S2000 is one heck of a car for $32000...

Jeez, you're a slippery little sucker.

Who gives a damn what the used price is?

Another question one needs to ask is why they are so cheap second hand. Maybe because the original owner realised they had been reamed and just want to offload the embarassment.

Hmmm, $1400 second hand. Still an absolute rip off in my book.

[QUOTE=JsAP1,Oct 18 2005, 02:18 PM] That has nothing to do with it.
