Rota lovers unite

Shouldn't the companies that make high end wheels be pursuing some sort of design protection via copyrights?
When I bought my CCWs, I kept my Rotas. I still like them.

Volk tried to make some copyright infringement issues, but the fact is Rota did not copy their wheels 100%. They copied them 99.9%.
One of rota's argument that they were not violating anything was that it was not exactly identical. How was it not?
One of the differences was the lug hole placement. Volks put it exactly at certain spots relative to the spokes in every wheel where as Rota moved it a little .............
As far as looks are concerned cant you say then that Datsun copied BMW with there 510!!! I love Japanese cars, but if you ask anyone in the car business when Japanese cars first started to become big in the US is when they started "copying" known good designs. As far as looks are concerned! Rota's look similar but mine are not two piece like its expensive version. It saves me money! I dont need two piece, forged, one of a kind, name brand, super light wheels on my DAILY DRIVER! Pot holes are a pain!

Speaking of rolling me fenders. I received a quote today of $459.36. Now I know that that is very high for rolling but two fenders, but what should it cost when performed by a good body shop?
Thank you.
Thank you.

I bet I could pull the same or even more bitchs with my Rotas than with you and some 3000 volks
Where the hell did i mention that it's cooler to have volks. See thats the problem with the arguments here. Apparently some of you pro-rota do not read what some post as arguments.
Maybe my engrish has been fading but I dont recall stating such a nice fact. Did i say oh volks make you look cooler? Nope. Or how about you arent balling unless you're rolling with volks. Nope.
So where are you getting this from?

Yes you can say that Datsun copied BMW but they are not exactly alike (ok in rota's case 99.9%). They used a platform and created their own product that stands them apart.
Thats the whole idea. I posted before, rota copied 99.9% identical to popular wheels. No attempt to change anything except the lug hole placement so they cant be sued.
So i mean it wouldnt be an issue (for me anyways) if they tweaked the TE-37 design and made it Rota model. NOT Volk TE-37 look alikes.

I will say, there is a reason some of the upper end wheels are more money aside from the name. The forged wheels are much lighter. My Volks were quite a bit lighter than my new Rotas. But, since I'm not racing my car it was more an aesthetics thing for me. What I don't understand is paying a bunch of money for wheels made by companies like Work that aren't even forged.
