A Rota D2 weighs 13.75lbs. Do you know how much one of your Volks weighs?
In what size? I am 100% positive that a cast wheel is heavier than a forged wheel, that isn't even an argument.

Again I stated the cost is not what I am bugged with. I am not yelling "you folks are cheap holes by buying cheap wheels. !!" There is nothign wrong with buying cheap wheels for DD.

Yes you can say that Datsun copied BMW but they are not exactly alike (ok in rota's case 99.9%). They used a platform and created their own product that stands them apart.

Thats the whole idea. I posted before, rota copied 99.9% identical to popular wheels. No attempt to change anything except the lug hole placement so they cant be sued.

So i mean it wouldnt be an issue (for me anyways) if they tweaked the TE-37 design and made it Rota model. NOT Volk TE-37 look alikes.
You might as well give it up, you are fighting a lost cause. I 100% agree with you but the people you are arguing with don't care about copyright infringement or all the reasons it is wrong. It is like arguing with the wall. I am just trying to save you a ton of posts and arguments that will get nowhere and just destroy the thread.

I bet I could pull the same or even more bitchs with my Rotas than with you and some 3000 volks
My Volks were 2k not 3k, my LMs on the other hand are a different story. Which has nothing to do with this thread, and neither does your post. Most of us pull girls because of who we are, not what we drive. I would hate to have some superficial girl that was with me for what kind of car I drove.

Stay on topic and post your Rota's, no more arguments about it or I just lock the thread.

The sad thing is this.

Volk tried to make some copyright infringement issues, but the fact is Rota did not copy their wheels 100%. They copied them 99.9%.

One of rota's argument that they were not violating anything was that it was not exactly identical. How was it not?

One of the differences was the lug hole placement. Volks put it exactly at certain spots relative to the spokes in every wheel where as Rota moved it a little .............
Thank you. I only wish I had been told of these issues before I purchased my D2s. Had I been so informed, I would not have purchased them. But I asked "What is wrong with Rota's" on at least two occasions and within the Tires and Wheels forum before making my purchase. Yet no one ever responded.
Thank you for your thoughtful responses, al4tgbundy.

According to UPS, my set of Rota D2s (2, 18x8; 2, 18x9) weighed 57lbs. upon their having been weighed for shipment. I figure that the total weight of the four boxes and their packing materials weighed approximately two pounds, leaving 55lbs. toward the total weight of the rims. 13.75x4=55.

I sold my SSR SP1's and now I'm looking at some rota's.

I used to be a rota hater, only because I was jealous they had almost the exact same wheels I did, and they saved like a grand of cash. In the end, the only one who knew they were expensive was me, and the shady ricers who love to boost cars and steal nice things.

You get a lot of haters as well from those who've had the car for a long time and paid a lot of money compared to what they're worth now. We need to face reality, people like bargains.

So you never weighed them. You are just guessing. They were probably 57 lbs per box and 2 wheels per box, so more like 25 lbs a piece.

No. There were a total of four boxes. And the figure of "57lbs." was UPS's billed shipping weight - the total weight.
