Red with silver stripes!?! On what kind of car? That is one of the coolest mixes ever.
Ok, don't laugh. It was on a 1999 Hyundai Tiburon. I did it in vinyl, had the stripe on for about two months then took it off. I'll put a pic up tonight if I can find it. I thought it looked pretty cool. Anyway, needless to say, the S can back the stripes up alot better, but I hold nothing but respect for the Tiburon

As promised, here's the last one I had. Like I said the stripe stayed on for about two months. It was my first vinyl job and it wasn't that great. Also, the Tiburon had so many curves in the body, it was hard to get it to lay straight. the stripe is 16" wide.

As a note, I made custom running lights that are mounted to the front. I was doing some "off roading" in the middle of nowhere Nevada. A friend of mine and I decided to go to Area 51. That involved flying down 13 miles of unpaved roads, guided by a map that we pulled off the internet. Of course, this all took place at 11:30 at night with all six lights on the car blazing through the darkness hoping we wouldn't get shot

Here's a shot of the warning before at the Area 51 border. Needless to say, the "use of deadly force authorized" on the warning sign was enough to keep us from crossing the line.

Hey Cyclon36, my wife commented that you have a great sense of humor (judging by your post about driving off the mountain) and said that your previous cars accident was not a coincidence. She said your previous car 'committed suicide" because it knew what you had planned!

She's just kidding and we both admire your spirit. I say more power to you, even Herbie the Love Bug had stripes!

um, thanks...I think

Maybe I should have named it like they do with boats. You know how it suppose to be bad luck and all to have a boat without a name? Well, maybe it's the same for the cars. I'm calling this one Fred

Not to get off topic, but if you buy a Panoz, all the people who built the car sign their name in a metal plate in the engine bay. Also, in the center of the plate is a small name plate with the name of the car. I saw one at a show one time and the car's name was "Brenda." I would be pissed if I had just paid that much money for a sports car and they gave me a Brenda.

I think this color scheme rocks, the stripes (to my surprise) look really good. Going with the original (retro?) look I think made the difference.

FYI; strips on this car are (imho) appropriate; to me the S is a homage to the original british roadsters like the Cobra (with it's strips).

This looks better than any of the carbon fiber mods I've seen, and most of the body kits.

Great job!

Stripes were never my cup of tea, but I'm young enough that the cobra wasn't in my mind as a kid either. As for the Yellow/Black, I doubt the pictures do it justice. As was mentioned earlier, I think the black stripes are too distorted by the front grille area. That being said, I bet the grill would be different enough to not be included with the stripes in person as opposed to blending together in a picture. I think it would look better to almost anyone in person and a lot of peeps would find it much more stomachable.

That being said, kudos on the precise and great looking work and more power to you and your personal choices. I bet if you sell it later, someone will buy it BECAUSE of the stripes, but you might get 3 others not buying it for the same reason.

I Love It....although I do think it would look a bit better if you had the car lowered, actually, you need to, it would look amazing

I think it would look best one large down the center with a thin on each side of it. Kind of like this, but perhaps the center stripe not so wide.

Thanks for the comments.

I think I can safely say though, that the day I lower my car is the day I'll lose my entire front end. I'm careful about slopes and all, but I would really do some damage if my car was any lower.

BTW, I haven't gotten around to posting pics yet, but my hardtop came in (berlina black) and I have tinted all the windows down to 5%. I've also installed a ton of goodies since then that I need to take pics of. Maybe this weekend I'll put something up.

I'd really like to see the HT. Being that it's Berlina I assume you went OEM? That's got to look nice. Any reason why you didn't go yellow and continue the stripes?
