Not sure on newer cars but I installed led rear lights in my Zed and I had to swap out the old style signal flasher to a new electric one to slow the blinking down.

Subscribed. I might have to go to Ap1 tails if thats the only way to go about this but im sure you can enlighten us how to get around that if its only different size lights.

Thanks for putting up this guide! Im sure you were getting annoyed of me putting up all the comments on your build thread telling you to share.

nice!

just a small suggestion, but what if you painted the pcb board the leds sit on so it doesnt stick out so much in the daylight, or maybe find a red diffuser to go over the leds so you cant see the white ring.

looks good tho

Looks really good at night but during the day when you can see the leds, not as much. Really cool though.

You should just try to put the proper size resistor in the coil side of the relay circuit to slow the blinking down.
Exactly what I was thinking, a different resistor would probably sort out the issue. Great work, OP! The tail lights are one of the few things I dislike with the AP1's.

so the 120mm and the 130mm...

is that the diameter of the lens (clear and red oem) too?

i wanted to do this for a while, but never knew the size, and i want to keep the factory lenses in place. using rings behind them.

my custom del sol LED tails were easy, as i just used 4" trucklites units. made them all plug and play too
