The 00-01 tail lights are dated. The 02-03 are decent with the Chrome ring.

how good does the led show if you put them inside the lens, does the led still have the halo look?

Going to take pictures as I did not for the moment.
I put them inside the lens since I wanted to keep the OEM look.
Red lights have the nice halo look.
Turn signals have also the halo look to but not as sharp as the red lights.
I'll try to show you with pics
