DONT file a hit and run because the pictures are all you need for your claim and a police report. Dont bs the insurance company. Just do what 73zero said. It sucks to have to file a claim but you want your car back to normal. The police report will help you find the person involved so your insurance wont put out the money.

Just confront the person that did it, you have the picture with the license plate number to prove it. They must pay for the damage.

Ok let me explain what can happen if you file a claim with the other persons information.

Your insurance calls his, his insurance calls him and asks if he hit any one. If he says no, they call your insurance back and say they wont cover anything unless they have proof because their guy is claiming he didn't do anything because he knows his rate will go up. You have pictures and that might fly but it also might not.

Remmember I had measurements, it was a trailer hitch that put hole in my bumper, I had a bit more of a solid case. Not that common. All you have is scrape.

So reason why I brought up Hit and Run because when my friends front bumper and hood was smashed and he claimed it as hit run because it was. The process was easier and everything was cover by his own insurance. Now based on your plan I don't know if youll have to pay the deductible. Plus you waited too long for the first option in a way.

ANYWAYS.... just do waht you think is right man. Sorry for confusing you man. I say screw it and just call insurance company wit his info like the rest of the guys and I said earlier.

Find who who owns the car, file through THEIR insurance company for payment, then get someone to buff it out. That actually will buff right out (no pun intended). Never let it slide, they'll just do it to someone else.

If you must file through your insurance co, give them the photo showing the tag number, they can find out who it is and subrogate them or their insurance company.

Just out of curiousity, do you have any illegal liability issues for posting their tag on the internet?? Don't get sued brotha! They are at fault. They have to pay for your bumper. nuff said!!!

Is this even a possibility? The chance that someone with a Acura TL who runs into s2000 would be on a s2000 board looking up someone who they just hit seems remote. Are you going to tattle?

And partly if anyone would like to know their license plate number just to not park their car near them, that would be reason enough to post their plate.

BUT i digress, if anyone would like me to remove the pics please let me know.
