I my have to get the front done slightly. Looks good. I wonder how much Texas would bother me about it. Anyone have windshield tint in a state where annual inspections are done?? I'm curious if they'd bounce you for it. I'm thinking no more than 50%, and 35% is most likely, with 5% on the back, 20% on the sides.

i was at a tint shop and i wanted to get front tint, the guy at the shop said it was a moving violation(im in CA), im just going to get a small 5% bar because if i just get a black strip i think it will cut down on visibility too much.
Its not a moving vilation but they will give you a Fix it ticket.

I wlould think it wouldn't be that noticeable (assuming you didn't do 5%) as youd have light on both sides of the windshield, helping it look clearer.

5% TINT so you can't see up in my window! It's definitely illegal but i've been pulled over various times and the cops haven't noticed. As long as your registration/inspection stickers are BEHIND the tint film you are A-OK! I don't need sunglasses during the day anymore!

well depends on how u % tint.. but i say 95% is limo so..(some call it 5%)
5% would be correct. The number means the amount of light being transmitted through. An aftermarket film rated at 30% means that it allows 30% of the available light to pass through and blocks 70% of the light. This I believe is an industry standard. Otherwise people would be confused as to what they are buying.

im sorry but in going to have to disagree...
glass from factory comes in two types, tempered and laminated. All current cars have their windshields laminated for safety, that is why its so hard to break a windshield. You're door glass usually comes tempered. this makes the glass more easy to break... and when it does break it breaks in to small little round pieces.
This is very correct, think of all the movies and accident scenes you have seen with a front windshield that is damaged. It is almost always pulled off as one big piece. Side windows are different, your tint isn't doing much if anything to save you on a front windshield impact.

What do you mean by "behind" the tint film? In your pics it looks like your registration is "under" the tint, due to how clear it looks. A few more details would be great.
