Wreck to Riches
So I sold my AP1 a while back to finance some business expenses. I regretted it the moment it happened. The picture below is just before she was sold......

I have been dying to get back into a car. Decided to look for a cheap car that needed some repairs. Low and behold I placed a bid at the insurance auction and surprisingly i get call telling me that my bid had won. I was in shock as I bought the car for only $3200.
So here it is in all its glory.
2005 AP2 with front end damage.
At auction:

All loaded up after a 2.5 hour drive to pick it up:

The traffic on the way home:

Tore the body panels off the night i got it home: YIKES was hit harder than it looked like!!!

Tore down a little further:

Removed Damaged radiator support and damaged passenger apron:

More updates as it progresses.

Very cool! this will be fun to follow. The long block appears to be in good shape? Do you have an expected cost to get it back into running order? Having no experience as a basis - I'm going to say - all in , $5500 in repairs. Total guess.
Well It really just depends on the kind of deals i can get. I'm fairly thrifty so i generally am patient and wait for good deals to pop up. With this one unfortunately its much easier to buy the structural parts from the dealer. The good news is that I get wholesale prices at the dealership. The most expensive parts are the obvious ones... fenders, hood, bumper, headlights. The airbags did not deploy so that was a huge expense that was avoided. I'm really trying to keep this build under $5000. And then the modding will begin.
why wouldn't you be able to? all of the parts are replaceable. The right side frame rail is bent but thats why body shops have frame straightening machines. None of the mechanical or suspension components are compromised.
