Default Ap1 seats going into 2006 S2000.

I've heen gathering information and am hearing lots of different stuff.

Basically, my friend wants a red interior. He purchased some red AP1 seats to install in his 2006. Does anyone have a DIY on making this work? I did search and found a lot of inconclusive threads.

Any definitive help is appreciated.

May wanna try searching the other way around - AP2 seats fitment into AP1. I'm sure more people have done that rather than swap AP1 into AP2, and it should give you a better idea whether it's a direct fitment or not.

From my research, driver side should bolt right in. On the passenger side, you need to use a rail from a 06+ (00-05 are the same) on the AP1 seat. I have never tried to swap rails so I'm not sure how hard the process it, but it shouldn't be that bad.

I've tried removing rails before to ship my stock seats. I couldn't figure out how to remove one of them, IIRC.

Thanks. I'll try that. In the mean time, if anyone has done this, please chime in.

Just use the '06 rails on the AP1 seats. Rails come off easy, just a few bolts IIRC. Simple job

the driver is the same, the passenger rail sits differently because there is a hump on the floor that the rail accommodates for.

i sold my 06 to a buddy that has the rails retrofitted for his 04, and i also had rails made for my bride because no bottom mount rails were made for the 06+ yet when i purchased the seat, cut, rewelded etc etc

its going to be easier to find a set of donor rails.

He has 06 rails since his car is a 06. How exactly do the rails come off? I remember having an issue removing the rails on my 00. But it was a while back....
