Default audio controls?

Hi all. Just wondered if there's anything that can be done with the audio controls once they are made redundant once you install an aftermarket headunit?
Anyone taken them out and done anything special or different with this area of the dash? Taken the controls out maybe?

Or can the audio controls be wired up to make an after market head unit work?

You want a Modifry DCI. I bought one last summer and it works perfectly with my Alpine unit.

You need a DCI/SWI. Modifry's not the only one but it is the one I'd recommend.
