While I was at Import Alliance last weekend I saw a Miata with a home made "Oh Shit" strap hanging from the top of the windshield. This gave me an idea to custom make my own since my fiance always grabs for a handle that's not there when we are on spirited cruises. While we were walking through checking out the vendors we spotted it, a tow loop to replace a tow hook. It was the right size and was as close to the perfect color as it almost matches my nfr00 so I snatched it up. I'm glad I did too because it was their last red one. Then while talking the idea over with my buddy we decided that we are going to fab the custom bracket to hold this strap in place. I will post up pictures of the strap I bought later tonight. What is everyone's opinion on this idea?

 

Been toying with the same idea but will be putting it on my roll cage bar.

For a stock setup i was thinking of mounting a stral under the softtop catcher and having it come through the plastic and hide under your visor. Pull visor down it pops out and you hold on for dear life!

Just curious because of how it will feel in hand.

I was thinking 1 or 1.5 (sort of like super car inside door handle pulls)

 

I'd say 2.5, it's the same size as our seat belts just a bit thicker.
