I actually ordered dye for my leather couch from the same company to touch up a few areas of wear. It is a bonded leather couch with very dark brown leather. It had worn on the head cushion to reveal the light brown beneath. Luckily the dye it matched perfectly and I was able to feather it in and seal it without much fuss.
My bolster looks a lot better after adding more filler and dying it again. The manufacturer said you can fill right over sealer/dye and then dye/seal again with no problem and they were right. It is still not as rich looking as the rest of the seat but I think it will work itself out over time with treatments. I read about coconut oil or neatsfoot oil darkening leather but I can just see that not working. Not sold on that as a solution. I may just let time handle it for me because I don't want to dye both seats completely since they are in great shape.

@IA-SteveB Hey man! I discovered something really interesting about the relationship of the filler and the dye doing my second seat!
Ya know how the end goal is a nice matte finish(before the sealer). But I noticed that places where filler is, applying the dye, the dye becomes a sort of semi gloss. Basically what I think is happening, is the pigment is going in, and the color itself looks even, buts you get a mix of matte and gloss. Its telling you it still needs more dye. When the filler gets enough dye it mattes out evenly with the rest of the leather.
Anyway just something I noticed.
