Default Seat Restoration

Hey S2KI, I just traded my black seats for some Suzuka blue ones. They are in pretty good condition except the driver seats has some wear. The side bolster where the seams comes together is a little worn and the blue is rubbing off and becoming white. Its not super terrible, but its noticeable.
I was wondering if anyone has ever found a close color sharpie or paint and just filled in small areas on the seat. I dont expect anything to match 100% but i figure if its just a small area that needs repair that it wont be extremely noticeable. I did see someone on youtube color in the thread on his seats with a dry erase pen. He colored the thread red, and wiped the excess off easily because its an erasable pen. I did purchase from Amazon a leather repair kit that comes with colors you can mix, match, and blend. It also comes with a pen like applicator. It had good reviews online but of course matching blue seats is an odd color. Still waiting for it to come in the mail anyways so im just wondering what fellow S2K owners have done before. Thanks

This obviously isnt my seat and mine arent in this bad of condition, but this is the area that i want to fix. Any advice?

My Black driver side was showing small cracks also both on the bolster and bottom part so I ordered a kit from www.Leatherique.com, it contained two bottles of different cleaners, a bottle of Rejuvenator and bottle of matched dye for the S.....followed directions which at the time seemed to be backwards but did just what they said to do and it came out super and have enough stuff to do all seats if need be..... would post pictures but haven't figures out how yet..... kit is a little pricey but sure was worth it, I did the dye several times using light coats instead of trying to cover damage with one coat.....

thank you for the reply. THeir website is kind of difficult to navigate through. DO you think they will have a matching or close matching blue?
Still waiting for my leather repair kit to come in the mail. It was cheap on amazon, but got great reviews so i figured it was worth a shot in the dark.....

Yes I found that too so I called them and they told me they can match any color for a specific car....

Good luck with it, by some of the pictures it works if you follow directions, It takes about 24 to 48 hours to dry, mine dried a little quicker since I am in Florida and was able to do it out in sunshine and I used an artist brush and 3 light coats.....I did not have to use wet sandpaper as mine had minor cracking......
