I've owned my S since Sept of 04', I just found the secret compartment LAST NIGHT!!!! I was reading on here about how to do the perfect camera install between the roll hoops for my new camera... and long behold there it was shown in one of the pics, I ran out to my car to investigate, and I couldn't beleive it As much time as I've spent on this site and with other owners over the years, I can't beleive I never knew about it. Well, at least I'm not the only one
When I bought the car, I had to keep hassling the dealer for an owners manual becuase mine didn't have one, so for 2 years ive been using a sloppy POS manual thats not even held together in one peice. Of course, the original was in the secert compartment the whole fockin time...

My fiance found it first time she was in the car, everytime we are driving a long distance, she searches and swears there must be another one, like where a glove box should be. -I did find the seat pocket right away though.

Nope, bought mine new and only got a 1/4 tank. Luckily I knew where the fuel release button was already.

Hmmmm, not really. Most remote fuel door openers are in the facinity of the drivers door. It's just that they're usually some kind of lever, not some kinky little buttom you pull on, and they're also normally located along the floor just in front of the drivers seat or at the base of the dashboard, not sitting right next to the Nader pin.

I think it's a combination of design and location that makes the darn thing so hard to spot when you don't already know where it's at. The number of folks around here who bought the car and didn't know where this button was at, unfortunately, speaks volumes for what a lousy job the dealers are doing when it comes to briefing the customer on some very fundamental features.

Oh well.......

Have a funny story too..

I bought the S this summer and went picking it up with a friend 200 miles away from my home. After the deal was made we drove home, but after 50 miles the gas light lit up and we stopped at a local gas station.

Then i reached down towards the left front bolt of the front seat ( where usually the pulling realease for the gas cap is.. but WTF, where is it??? I drove a ITR/CRX/CIVIC before the S and my friend has driven 3 CRX"s and we didnt knew where the freaking release was!

so after 10 minutes of searching, and frustrating faces of other cars in line i called the previously owner... tuut tuut tuut.... nobody answered DAMN!!

there we were, 150 miles away from home, no gas, sunday, nobody answeres the phone, and 2 guys who are totally honda and just bought an S, and didn't knew how to fill her up....

Then some other guy walked to us and askes what the problem was. He found the release within 1 minute! we were both looking each other like: "wtf"?

never felt so dumb at the gas station...
