Sweet just found it for the first time. I have only had my s2000 for about 4 weeks though. Makes storage much easier now. Never knew about it.

 

what sucks about the compartment is if you have the windscreen and the soft top down the compartment only opens about a third of the way. I do love it for storing my radar detector though.

What an old thread! Funny thing was we talked about the secret compartment in my video. We had similar reactions from a bunch of the people we interviewed! The video made the rounds a while ago, but here is the link to the page: S2000 Documentary

The reason for that is the elastic straps have worn out on your top. when you go to put your top down, reach up to the bar spanning left to right, pretty much directly above your head about halfway front to back on the roof section. Hold it towards the back of the car as the top goes down. Might not seem like you're doing much but your top will compress slightly flatter and you'll be able to open the compartment fully with the top down.

I had the same problem and you'll see some elastic strap fixes if you do a little search.
