In reading this thread I realized that I did not get the second pad for the bottom of the secret compartment. I only got the one for the small, upper section of the secret compartment, not the one for the deep well.

 

i found it the on the 3rd test drive in an 06

 

I showed it to a friend who has one, she had no clue but owned the car for almost 2 years. Is it really a secret test of people's observation.

 

Oh, I don't know about it being in "plain sight!"

That depends on how tall you are. For me, that latch is totally hidden. I stumbled on it while climbing around in one on the show room floor before I bought the car. It doesn't surprise me at all that some owners don't know it's there and it definitely doesn't surprise me that some dealerships don't know it's there.

dude i'm going to check this out now.. just got the car a week ago..and had to call the dealership and complain about the car not having an owner manual.. LOL.. they are senting me a new one as of yesterday.. Oops..

and talk about gas release.. damn... coming from a German car.. this was pain to find the 1st time... pushing, pulling, looking, searching up and down.. i was like wth... then when I was resting on the side of the car.. looked down..and found a little knob.. LOL.. that was it.. durrrrrrrrrr

Im with you wing... went over everything in my MY07 and found the compartment. Did not even know it was a "secret" compartment until I read this forum. Can't belive the years some have lost!! Very usefull compartment...

 

do you have pics? dont know where the compartment is at.

 

you know, I didn't know about the pockets behind the seats either until I looked.

A lot of stuff back there.

that and the secret glove box in the passenger seat for those with 02's that nobody knows about.

 

Not telling you, otherwise it would not be a secret.
