Default Wood type

What I am looking to do is install plate rear speakers in the faux headrests. My idea is to fit a wooden panel with rebat for the speaker then put a beading in front to hide the unsightly holes and screws of the plate speaker.
I would like the wood to have an attractive grain but also to be resilient to the ever changing temperatures and humidity a car goes through in Scotland. Any chippies out there please provide comment.

Teak is the wood of choice for boats & yachts.
