Any Open Track dates near NJ this Summer?
How come all of the open tracks seem to be in CA, IL, etc.
Does anyone know of a track that people from the East Coast are planning on making a trip to this Summer?
Thanks,

As far as I know the closest track is Pocono. They have several road courses set up on the infield that use parts of the Nascar tri-oval as straights.
Other than that Lime Rock is not too far away.
There is a new track that is supposed to open this summer in PA, it's called Rousche Creek.
Some of the car clubs, such as the Porsche club, run events at these tracks. You could contact the tracks to see what clubs have time booked and then contact the club to see if you can run with them.
If you are willing to travel a little, Gregg participates regularly at events at Virginia International Raceway.
Additionally the guys who run the autocross at Giants stadium have track events. You might want to check their web site: www.nasatristate.com
BTW Last fall several of us (6) from the board took a 2 day driving school at Pocono. I thought it was a great class, but it was expensive, 650 for 2 days. Those of us who took the class are invited back each time they have a class to get some track time for about $125. The next class by this particular school is in the fall. I recommend the class to anyone in our area. The company's web site is: www.drivingdynamics.com

Tom,
Thanks for the info. I'll check out the info on the Giants Stadium AutoCross, and the Fall Class sounds great.
Last weekend, a friend told me about the SCDA. They have upcoming track dates ($225.) at:
Watkins Glen (Tues 6/26/01)
New Hampshire (Weds 10/3/01)
Lime Rock (Fri Nov 9/01)
There website is: www.scda1.com
