I'm sorry Jimmy, I missed your post, maybe it was me who got hit in the head with a book.

If you are a die hard BMW fan and you are not repelled by the sight of the Z3 coupe, and you are foolish () enough to consider something other than the S2000, I can say this- I have been around The Glen in both an M coupe and a Z3 coupe 3.0i, and the 3.0i is a very sweet ride, very fast!!! I suspect the backend of the Z3 coupe 3.0i is easier to control than the backend than the S2000, I will know next year as soon as I have my Spa. I hope to understand the difference in some other way than becoming a member of the 180 club who has flown off the track backwards! The Z3 coupe 3.0i is a very fast car and with that big ole straight 6 you will not be lusting over torque if you are accustomed to driving an older 325. For the price of the M coupe consider the Z3 coupe 3.0i with a few suspension tweeks. It may not have the brutal power but the handling will surpass the stock M coupe. Power is one thing, but handling is a superior power, which is why some of us just plain love the S2000.

Triple H,

I was actually mentioning the 3 series M3 Coupe, not the Z coupe. The M3 Coupe that I was talking about is the 3 series coupe with the 333hp engine and is available with the SMG transmission.

Although, I have driven the Z coupe 3.0i and I must say it was very nice. As for the hat or shoe shape of the MZ Coupe, yeah, it's very controversial. It's a hate it love it type of look. Tomorrow the snow is dropping!!! You ready? =D

Yo Jimmy- sorry to be a bit anal when it comes to BMW, so I will blame it on the group of people I have been hanging with for the past all too many years.
The M3 coupe is the is the Z3 body in a coupe variation with the M Division tweeks.
The M3 is the 3 series in a M variation.
There is no M3 coupe that is not a Z3 body.
I suspect what you are interested in is the E46 M3.
Come on back...

Jimmy - I love a good debate. While I gather my facts I'll post my answer to your question.
Say- did you notice my new sign-off?

Oh Jimmy, don't tease me... What do I think of the E46 M3?

BSMTH
be still my thumping heart

This is nearly the perfect sheep in wolves clothing, my favorite kind of car. I suspect the Ultimate sheep in wolves clothing is its bigger brother, the M5. Mind you the M5 is at the top of my list of cars to get once I win the NYS Lotto!!! M5, M5, M5, M5, M5, it is sort of like a chant I use to lull myself to sleep, who the f**k wants to count sheep when you can count M5s???
So what do I think of the M3? I think a lot about the M3, day in and day out!
The E46 M3 is one of the best cars made in the world today. Period.
When BMW uses the word "Ultimate" driving machine, I really believe they have every right in the word to use the word Ultimate!
For me the car is too big, too heavy, contains too many luxury items, has way too many gadgets, and is way out of my price range. I think the car is great, but for me it just does not fit. Even if I won the Lotto I would not buy the M3, it is not that I don't like it, I sort of lust after it, it is just not for me. I would rather spend a bit more and get the M5 or I would spend the money and get an S2000 AND a Toyota Tacoma ExtCab 4x4 with the TRD suspension and supercharger. Dogs are not the only ones who love trucks!

Jimmy - now that I have aligned myself with dogs, let me just say I'm going off to sulk in my house with my tail between my legs... "M3 coupe" it is. As a consolation to me while I'm gnawing on the bone you tossed me, I will at least reflect with joy on the fact that I got you to loose the capital letter "C" because we all know it is a coupe and not a Coupe.

Wow. I'm gone for 12 hours and the S2ki forum becomes the upstate NY BMW Appreciation Society That's the problem when you get a bunch of motorheads together, they start out talking about one car and end up talking about another. A person can't belong to enough car clubs...

Jimmy, sorry about Eric cancelling. Eric, if you're reading this, the snow isn't supposed to start falling heavily until late afternoon, so you still have time to get out and use your S2000 for another day. The Pathfinder will just have to wait.

OK Skip, you cought us, Jimmy and I are busted, and I was thinking we were doing really good with the underground Upstate NY BMW Appreciation Society, I think it is all Jimmy's fault, I'm not taking the fall

There is no snow in sight up here, closer to the puddle, in fact I'm thinking of pulling the CRX-Si out for one last blast, they have yet to salt the roads so there is really no reason not to, there is just something about 1g cornering forces that I can't seem to get enough of.

Jimmy - BMW seems to like the lower case "c" in coupe rather than an upper case "C", this same style also shows up in "M roadster", "Z3 coupe", it is just a gramatical style thing.

All- I have gotten no responce from s2ki, YET!
