1997 Honda CRV key fob works with s2000
Good day everyone.
I will keep this short. So let's jump straight in to it.
I was looking for a new key fob for my 2000 Honda S2000, original is 20 years old and even thought it still works, it doesn't look all that great. So new fob it is. Honda wants 250$, Honda Parts Now wants 185$ + tax + shipping.
If you wanted a OEM fob and don't want to spend s2k premium 1997 CRV works on our cars. Parts# 08E61-S10-1M001 (Honda Parts Now 47$ as of 01/15/21)
Things to check before purchase. Open your old fob and make sure that...
1. Omron G8D-452H-A
2. Trunk symbol and NOT "option".
Follow your usual S2000 programming steps, can be found on this forum, and you are set.
I tested it on 2000 and 2005 year models and it worked on both. I am NOT sure if 2006 and up AP2 will work.
Info about our fobs.
Name: Omron
Manufacturers part: G8D-452H-A
FCC ID: E4EG8DJ
Congrats your saved 150$. Programming is FREE, you can do it your self.
Regards,
Borka

I can confirm that this works. I have an '04 S2000 and it came with only a set. I bought the key fob matching the part number off Ebay and programming took seconds. Now I have an extra key fob for when I forget to grab my keys and the car decides to lock on its own. Thank you!
