Default 4.4 final drive - noise?

HI all,

I'm interested to know from people who have 4.4 gears if they are all noisy compared to stock?

I was looking at the J's one versus some of the others and wondering what would be best. I don't really want any extra noise.

you should look into getting the mazdaspeed 4.44. that is what i am running in my diff built by s2kpuddydad. you should send him a pm. the mazdaspeed 4.44 are oem gears so they sound very quiet. there is a faint faint sound to them. a very very high pitch whine. so far i am the only one that can hear it. all my passengers have not notice it. i dont notice it anymore. i have to be really concentrating to listen to it.

The factory Mazda gear sets are the best. They make no more noise than the factory 4.10.
Next time your out driving your S listen very hard and you will here your factory 4.10 it will sound a bit pitchy at times as you feather the gas peddle.
Also depending on lubrication viscosity used you may here the gears turn even more or less.

I have had the mazda gears for over three years now and there is very little noise. If I put you in the car you would most likely not be able to notice. The only reason I notice a difference in sound is becuase I know how it sounded stock. I get a bit of noise between 3-4k rpms but like I said I know how it sounded before.

hope this helps.

If you are boosted then I would highly recommend talking to puddydad. Get that diff reinforced.
